This week we are featuring the fabulous Wood Lake. Only a short drive from the beautiful and historic town of Bracebridge, Wood Lake is a great spot to have your vacation home. The lake is tucked away so it will give you the feeling of being somewhere remote but it is right off of highway 118 East for easy commuting.

Summer is about finding the perfect balance of being active, enjoying the outdoors and having time to relax. There are a variety of activities to try out when you are at the lake. Fox Point Beach and Wood Lake Beach are both located on the south end of the lake and offer a great place to go swimming for you and the family.  "Drink Muskoka.....Not Just the Lake Water...."

You may have heard of the Triple Play in baseball or the Hat Trick in hockey. We have our own triple play in Muskoka - that would be some of the best craft brewers, coffee roasters, and a winery.

Nothing beats sipping a fresh cup of coffee, early in the morning, while sitting on your dock. Local roasters include Muskoka Roasting Coffee Company, Diesel House Coffee Roasters, Inspire Coffee Roasting Company, and Camp Muskoka Coffeehouse.

Later in the day on the dock, you can change gears and switch to a nice cold one, and there is a wide selection of Muskoka brews. Local brewers include Muskoka Brewery, Lake of Bays Brewing Company, Sawdust City Brewing Company, and Clear Lake Brewing Company. And if…

If you are in the market for a cottage in Muskoka, Muldrew Lake is a great choice. Conveniently located 15 minutes from Gravenhurst, Muldrew Lake offers a fantastic cottage experience with nearby access to a huge selection of amenities. The lake was named after Dr. William Hawthone Muldrew who was the first principal of the Gravenhurst High School and the second person to have a cottage on Muldrew.

The lake is divided into three sections: South Muldrew Lake, Middle Muldrew Lake and North Muldrew Lake, however it is still a single waterbody that can be travelled from one end to the other. There is a boat launch on Indian Landing Road near the North end of the lake.

The long shoreline offers spectacular views and plenty of room to tour…

Golf

"So you are thinking about Moving to Muskoka......and you like Golf....Great Choice!"

For you golfers out there, the RBC Canadian Open just finished last week and from what I have read was a complete success (even mother nature co-operated). Brooke Henderson’s Canadian record ninth LPGA Tour victory has turned her into the Queen of Canadian golf. Royal LePage Lakes of Muskoka Realty has this year's golf tournament scheduled for June 18, 2019. We are playing at Muskoka Bay Club.

There seems to be more articles in the media these days covering "Exurbs", people moving from the city, skipping the suburbs, and moving to an area surrounded by a secondary municipality. We are seeing more first time home-buyers and soon to be retired people moving to…

Located just 7 minutes from Port Carling and 20 minutes from Bracebridge, Brandy Lake has the perfect combination of tranquility and convenience. The lake gets its name from the colour of the water which is naturally dark because of the organic material in the lake.

Since the lake is smaller there is less boat traffic which makes it perfect for water sports such as canoeing, kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding. There are other great benefits to the small size of Brandy Lake like a scenic shoreline and a quieter more relaxing environment.

If you are looking to have some fun on your boat there is a boat launch on Pickerel Lane which is on the northern part of the lake. Once you are on the water, you can pull out your fishing rod and enjoy…

Located 25 minutes Southwest of Huntsville, Skeleton Lake is a truly unique area and a great place to have your summer home. One of the best things about Skeleton Lake is the water quality. It has some of the clearest water in the region, making it possible to see 9.1 meters deep. There is a healthy fish population of smallmouth bass, lake trout, walleye, lake whitefish, and burbot.

Once you have arrived, there are plenty of activities to choose from. The lake allows motorized vehicles for boat lovers out there, and the Skeleton Lake Marina is nearby for all of your boating needs. If you are big into cycling, why not try out the Skeleton Lake bike loop? It’s a 90km round trip ride from the Huntsville Centennial Centre. You won’t be able to beat the…

"I am Looking at Purchasing a Waterfront Property..a Waterfront......Yes.. a Waterfront"

When I was selling real estate in Toronto, a major part of my business was condominium sales. Buyers would approach me, "Steve, I am looking to purchase a condo." My first couple of questions to the buyer were generally easy to answer, typically where do you want to live and what is your budget? After that, my questions became a little more challenging to the buyer. What style of building are you looking for (high rise/low rise/boutique/hard loft/townhouse/stacked townhouse...and more). I would also ask them to consider building amenities, proximity to the subway, parking as well as a variety of other features. Of course all these factors have an impact on…
