Lake Joseph itself is part of the ‘Big 3’ in the Muskoka region, along with Lake Rosseau and Lake Muskoka. The Muskoka region is, in fact, the world’s second-fastest-growing recreational real estate market, behind only Cote d’Azur, France. Muskoka is sometimes referred to as the ‘Hamptons’ of Canada, indicating the popularity that Lake Joseph cottages for sale have with well-to-do professionals and executives living and working in Toronto, much the same way the Hamptons is the go-to-spot for similar individuals in NYC.

There are three different marinas in and around Lake Joseph: Gordon Bay Marine in MacTier, Pride Rosseau Marina in Port Carling, and Port Sandfield Marina. Travelling up or down the lake by boat to reach specific locations and local amenities is possible, including to the markets in Gravenhurst. In fact, some shops and restaurants on Lake Joseph are only accessible by boat. The community also feature a vast networks of hiking trails, some of which also allow biking and horseback riding.   • MacTier Public School
  • Almaguin Highlands Secondary School

There is also a greater selection of public, private, and post-secondary choices in North Bay, just two hours north by car along ON-11 Highway.
